Does anybody know what this is? It's electrical. It comes from the main wiring harness in the engine bay and runs straight down into the right front hub between the axle and the brake caliper. I found it hanging there today.

 

Wheel speed sensor? Is the ABS light on?

Not to sound like a jerk, but are you sure it's wire and not vac for the IWE?

Yeah, it's definitely electrical. It's ripped off and I can see a bunch of wires in the middle.

 

If it's a bunch of wires then I don't know. I think the wheel speed sensor only has 2 wires. There should be a tone ring on the rotor and close to that should be a little box looking thing (pretty technical huh). Any way that is where those wires would go, at least that's my guess. If that is it then you will probably just need a new speed sensor.

You didn't say if the ABS or Brake light is on. If it is then it's deff. the speed sensor.

 

Haha what do you know? I got in my truck this morning and my ABS light is on. So does this confirm that it's a speed sensor?

 

That's exactly what it is, speed sensor.

 

That rubber grommet between your fingers is supposed to be inside a clip, holding the wire up so it doesn't get snagged & ripped out. Make sure you put the new in the clip.

 

Lol yeah, it was still clipped up, it just got ripped out of the hub somehow.
