Turn Signals
Turn Signals
So I pulled my dash out to repaint everything and when I put it back together I didn't have any turn signals. I replaced the relay and still no turn signals. Checked all the fuses and they're all good too. I took the cover off the steering column and some of the pins had pulled out of the connector that is on the top of the steering column. I tried to put them back in the connector and they just slide back out. Anyone know how to put them back in where they will stay? Are these even the pins for the turn signals or are the to like the brights or wipers or what? Here are the pics.

That's a VERY common problem, and Ford has issued a TSB about it. The fix is to replace the connector, and lengthen the wires by cutting/splicing a longer pigtail on.
But that's a lot of work, and splicing all those wires is a PITA, so what I did when I worked at the dealership was to simply PUUUUULLLLLLL that bundle of wires to make it just a fraction longer (you're pulling a tiny bit of slack out of the main wiring harness into that takeout), and then transfer the original terminals to the new connector shell without cutting anything. Never had a comeback. You can buy the pigtail at Ford, NAPA, CarQuest, Parts+Plus, and probably others (TeamFordParts.com, RockAuto.com...).

Good to know I can get a new connector. Will the existing wires and clips just snap into the new connector? Is there a diagram I can find to make sure that I put them back in the correct orientation. Thanks for the help.
So I didn't get a new plug, but I got that one to work. Only problem now is that my passenger side blinkers hyper flash. The bulb is good and the driver's side blink fine. Any idea what that could be?
Fast flasing means the LCM doesn't see enough current draw on that circuit, so it's telling you it thinks a bulb is burned out.

But what would be causing it? All the fuses are still good and the bulbs are fine. As far as I can tell all of the wires are secured good on the pins in the plug as well. What would cause it to not read the correct resistance?
Are both the front and rear bulbs both blinking fast ?
I would take a swag that the wires to the passenger side are not making contact ( the pin inserted fine, but when you put the connector together, they pushed back out again ).

Well I couldn't find a new connector shell, so went to the junkyard this weekend and got a few things and snagged a new connector off a donor truck. I soldered it back on last night and now everything works like a charm. Thanks for the advice guys, I really appreciate it.

It was telling you the rear bulbs were out. Not burned out, but out of the circuit - the LCM can't tell the difference. Buy a new connector shell.
