Headlights randomly come on (plus other electical gremlins) - 2010 Crewcab XTL
OK,
Over last 2 years my truck had some electrical gremlins that came and went.
One time the remote "unprogramed" itself and I could not lock / unlock the doors. I reprogrammed it and it worked fine since.
Then another time the truck would start, but I could not put it in gear. I turned it off, started it again, but the problem was still there. I unplugged the battery for a while and the issue went away and has been fine.
Latest issue is that the headlights randomly come on when the truck is parked. The lights will turn on for few seconds and go off. Last night it happened twice. I can't tell if the lights come on during the daytime, but it's possible - I only saw it in the evening and at night. This happens at random places.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

Sounds like a problem with your BSM, since the stuff you're having problems with runs through there. The electrical is complicated, especially on the '04-up F-150, so it can be several other places. I wonder if they can do a "reflash" on the BSM, I don't know. I don't know how much control the PCM has over the BSM, but I assume it has to have some.
Took it to Ford and after diagnosing all Friday they said it's something with "smart junction box". They are going to replace it once the part comes it. 3 days without my truck. I hope that's the right fix.
