ford tech-- anti theft question

any techs here who could give guidance. we have a 2000 mustang gt. it is a crash car. very crashed. want to take the engine/trans out and put in a rat rod. before we remove we'd like to fire it up, but something in the theft system is preventing it. we have the key but the column is damaged.
first question is what would we have to remove from the car and keep in order to get it running. obviously computer and such but what other module for theft system.
second is can the theft be bypassed with the motor out of the car somehow?

thanks

The column being damaged, I am going to take a guess it is a damaged PATS transceiver, which powers and reads the RFID tag on the key to know if it is programmed in the HEC in the cluster.

What do you need to remove, the cluster, the PATS transceiver and the PCM, along with the wiring for the SCP communications network.
