Question Power Window Failure

After being on the road for about an hour, my drivers side power window won't work. The next morning, the window will work but very sluggish. Is this a bad motor, or a bad relay? It gets really bad when I pull up to a toll booth or a drive thru window and I have to open the door to pay.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I change the easy thing first and that would be the relay.

Hey Cobra...

Do your lights dim up pretty good when you try to operate that window??

If they don't really dim at all, I would bet its the relay (Since the motor does actually work)

If they get really dim, then the relay is most likely OK (It is allowing some heavy current flow), and the commutator on your power window motor has prolly gone belly up, and its time for a new motor.

Just my $.02 on what could be a quick way to tell. Might have to take apart that door and have at it with a DVM.
