Help with 2008 XL Cruise control!

Ok, installed the switches myself and went to the dealer and had them turn on the speed control with the IDS. Still no cruise. The tech showed me the computer where it said that cruise control was turned on. I know this is possible because many people have done it on the forum. I do not have the TPMS installed on my aftermarket wheels and the tech was suggesting that this may be the issue? Anyone else have any experience with this? The truck had no fault codes except for the TPMS.
Thanks!
Josh

Did you check that the speed control deactivation switch was installed ?

This is not the same switch as the BPP ( Brake Pedal Position ) Switch that operates the stop lamps and the shift interlock ( that is the lower switch not labeled in the picture below ).

The switch is closed when the brake pedal is off ( brakes not applied ) and provided power to the pin on the PCM.

If the deactivation switch is not installed, the circuit is open, and the PCM thinks the brakes are on, and will not set the CC. I have not looked, but I would also think part of the ECT is to test the deactivation switch to enable the Cruise Control, and unless power is at the pin on the PCM at startup, the CC function is disabled.

The other question is did you change your Stop/ Turn bulbs to LED ?

The truck is a manual transmission and everything seems to be there. I do not have LED taillights. Im thinking that its possibly the TPMS. Does anyone have TPMS installed that has used cruise before while the light was on?
Thanks

What do you mean seems ? Either it is there and functioning correctly ( with the fuse installed ) or it is not.

Everything is there, including the fuse which is good. All taillights are functional. I checked every other fuse that could be related to it and they are good. The switches are installed correctly and light up when the vehicle lights are turned on. Im getting the TPMS mounted tommorow morning to see if that remedies the problem.
