Exclamation Short in power control module circuit???

I have a '97 f150 with a 4.6l that just suddenly died on me. When troubleshooting I found 30amp fuse #24 was blown in the power distribution box. When checking with a test lamp I found this circuit had power to both sides of the fuse block. It was hot at all times, then I disconnected my batt to do further checks and the circuit was no longer hot on the out pole after reconnecting. I have (+)power going into the coils, but nothing on the (-) terminals while cranking. Where should I start looking to find the problem.

The last thread that I saw that had fuse 324 blowing, the cause of the symptom was an O2 sensor wire past the passenger xhst pipe.

Seems to be a pretty common fault. For more discussions, enter "F24" into the search feature.

I have read most of the posts for f24, the major difference between them and my problem is my fuse has only blown once. I have put in a new fuse, it has not blown, but truck still won't start. No fuel pump, no spark, no pulse from the cam position sensor. Does this lead to the PCM being bad?

Might want to check that "new" fuse with a meter.

If the device side is dead, that means the fuse is blown again.
