I am going to install universal seat heaters in my 150.
My question revolves around the factory wiring harness. I have a 2006 Lariat with Power Seats, but no heat. I would assume that the harness already has wires for heating element and control but don't know for sure.
Anyone else here put in universal seat heaters and been able to use factory wiring? I saw this answer but no guidance as to which wires/colors....
Heated seat upgrade
The seat heaters I am looking at are here if interested :
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A2JZ704H3A61DA
Anyone have any wiring schematics or experience with this mod ?
Thanks in advance!

That is a bad assumption. The connectors are 2 different ones.
You might have the climate controlled connector, you will need to take a look.
The previous 2 members that looked for it, did not find it, so do not be surprised if you do not find it either.
Your URL from Amazon, is not formatted correctly, so cannot tell what you are looking at installing.
What looks like it should be a URL for the Heated seat upgrade doe not have one.
In short, go looking but plan on installing the power to the universal heated seats yourself.
It is not that hard to install the circuits, I added heated seats to my rear seat, and used the passenger side door sill to run the wire.

That was my last ditch plan if there were no connectors. I already have a circuit block from the battery which I ran a while back that I'll tap off of, but was hoping there would already be something from the factory already there....

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My 2005 lariat did not come with the wiring harness complete to plug/play heated seats. I went to the dealership and had them to pull up parts and 2 different wiring harness are listed, one with heated, memory, passenger power and one with only drivers power. So... after buying a set of factory heated seats for a swap, I sold them. I will buy an aftermarket heated seat kit. I do have the factory switch panel for the dash and I have already put it in. when I press the buttons for the heated seats the lights come on but don't stay on. I'm wondering if I can wire the aftermarket heated elements into that switch so it looks like a factory install and I don't have to add more switches. Good luck on yours and if you or anyone knows about using the factory switches I'd appreciate an answer too. Thanks,
The factory switch is a momentary switch that pulses the heated seat module. The heated seat module ( depending on how many times pulsed ) switches on the correct number of LEDs.
Best you could do is use a latching relay to turn on the aftermarket heated seat kit, but the switch for it would still be needed to get hi / lo.
You could have made the wiring harness for the factory heated seats, considering you had all the parts needed, and the factory switches would have worked, now you have switches installed that do not work with aftermarket kits.

Thanks for the information. This is a great forum. I got the switches as part of the electronic HVAC controls I bought with the seats. I had hoped it would work anyway but not a big deal that it won't. I will put my stock ones back in and sell it. Thanks again for the knowledge.
