98 exp. gauge cluster and dome light issues

Recently picked up a 98 exp 5.4, gauge cluster will not illuminate and when you open driver door dome light does not work. Works with passenger door open but not drivers. cant seem to find the fuse location in this thing. I have a 99 150 and going according to fuse diagram it is different on the exp. Any help would be appreciated.

If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :
https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp

The cluster, download the owners manual in PDF format for your 98 and check for the instrument illumination fuse. The other thing to check, is the instrument illumination dimmer switch next to the main headlamp switch, make sure it is not rotated all the way down.

The door part, might want to check the sticky at the top of this forum ( that is for won't go off, but the contacts could be stuck in place, not moving ).
If the interior lamps work with the passenger door, is is

The 97 & 98 were the same, the '99 was a change that was part '00 MY and part '98 MY. What part is like a '98 is hard to tell, so best to start with the correct owners manual.
