Is your g/f's car an F150 or any kind of Ford truck?

Yep that is pretty much it. You can also mix up some baking soda and warm water in a paper cup and dip the cable end in it. Then dry it off good and and wire brush it. The baking soda will neutralize the acid/corrosion in the cable.

Might want to take the bolt out first so you can match it up (I think there is about3 or4 different ones).

And I'll bet it's a Government Motors product.

I bet it is one of these. Dodge Stratus, Chrysler Cirrus or Plymouth Breeze. To get the bolt out of the cable connector try unscrewing it. There are metric bolt heads or Imperial but the threads are all the same.
