Hella 500 light install

Need a little bit of help. I want to get the Hella 500 fogs put on and wired up to my 06 XL before a fishing trip to northern Wisconsin.

I have a pretty good idea how to wire up the relay (to keep the lights on with the low beams) but I have no idea how to power the lights. I'm by no means an electrical expert. I've seen other posts that say wire the relay to the battery. Is there a harness or something coming off the battery? Do I use a fuse in the fuse panel?

I guess, can someone take a picture of how they wired up the power source to their aftermarket fogs or provide some "wiring fog lights" for dummies instructions. Maybe I am just overthinking this.

Thanks.

The directions from Hella show how to wire the relay and harness that comes with the lights

This is the picture from the install directions on having the aux lamps on with the low beams only:

The relay is what is wired to the battery ( via a fuse ) and is for powering the lights. The switch from the low beam circuit to the relay is what operates the relay ( when the low beams are on ).

This is the wiring directions

This is the URL to the PDF version of the install directions from Hella

Did you get the harness with the lights ?

This is all separate from the factory fuse panel.

I bought the kit (2 lights, wiring, etc).

Those directions are a bit clearer than what I found in the box, I'll give them a good look and see if that helps. Thanks!

As I figured, I have been over-thinking it. Got them to work. Will post pics and a photo tutorial for those like me who overwhelm themselves by over thinking... it was actually quite easy. Thanks again!

Finally got around to taking some pics.

Just wired the relay to the lo-beams (green/orange) wire and viola.
