Airbag code 18.....WTF

Has anyone else had this code, and if so what was the problem? I got some wiring done at the stereo show. They added steering wheel controls for my Clarion NX509. As soon as I left and my dog jumped in the pass. seat it came on. Now it only goes off when someones in the pass seat.

sounds like whoever installed your SWC tagged the wrong wire and is causing issues with your airbag system. Either that or they cycled the ignition on with the airbag light disconnected.

My guess either they left the PAD ( Passenger Airbag Deactivation ) lamp unplugged or they broke the wires to it.

Remove the Center trim panel, and take a look at the top, where the PAD lamp is at.

The airbag indicator on the cluster is where all LFC ( Light Flash Codes ) will be reported.
It is reporting there is a problem with the PAD indicator lamp.

IF you turn the key from off to run ( do not start ) the PAD lamp should illuminate for the same amount of time as the airbag indicator in the cluster. As soon as the SRS system finishes the tests, both should go out.

I would guess your PAD lamp does not come on when you turn the key from off to run.
