Post Fog Light Wiring Question

Hey Guys - I need some help. I am about to replace my factory airdam on my Expy with a PIAA airdam and I planned on wiring my new 6" KCs up to the existing fog light wires, so I would have a clean install. Is this possible? Any suggestions?

I'm not sure I understand your question, but from what you've asked, yeah, you should have no problem hooking them up to the existing wires, so long as they're not too small, and the breaker is the same size.

I dunno if this helps...sorry.

I don't recommend it...

I would not recommend it... you be pulling more current through the stock wiring, if you were lucky enough to not blow a fuse in the process. I believe the OE lights are 45 watts, while the KCs are at least 50. With the 50s, you're probably OK, but any more than that, and you'll want something heavier duty than stock. I would run a separate fused circuit with a relay triggered by the fog lamp circuit. This guarantees the same function as stock, but with the added current-carrying capacity necessary to safely pull the juice you need.

I think you will be better off using the wireharness provided from the KC kit than using the old stock one as you draw more current from the KC's than what the stock ones did.

Just because you want to use the factory switch doesn't mean you have to use the factory wiring. I wired my two 100W KC's to go on with the pull of the foglight switch (my fogs go on with the parking lights) I used the factory wiring only to activate the relay (provided with the KC's - 30A) and then the relay provided direct power from the battery. It was pretty easy actually once i figured the foglight switch is a ground switch not a power switch.
