Exclamation Headlights won't turn on

Hi I have a 1998 Ford F-150 Flareside 4.2L
3 days ago my headlights stopped working. If i pull back my highlight stick the high beams stay on as long as I hold it . I checked all the fuses and bought a new main switch which i figured out that didn't make a difference old one was good also. Everything all electronics work fine. When i turn on the headlights all lights turn on normally except two headlights. I checked both bulbs and filaments in each. I checked all. Anyone got an idea what can be the problem. Thanks

Sorry I hit the enter button too soon...
Check to see if you have continuity between the switch and the head lights. If you have a fox and hound line ringer it will be easier.

one of my customers had this problem before. The fix was to just simply unplug the headlight plug and plug it back in wiggling it back on. do this on both and voila, the headlights started working. if this will not work for you, you might wanna check the Daytime Running Light loop on the dash underneath the removable panel. hope this helps you.

Hey thanks for the replies, That fox hound idea is a good one would save me tons of time. I've used thema lot at work and didn't realize it could make my job easier in tracking my problem. I'll see what happens.

Yeah i have wiggled the plugs, and i don't have daytime running lights

I'll keep you guys updated.

I just tried all the methods and still nothing any new ideas???

Angry Headlights

I have a 1998 F150, recently I've had the same problem when turning the headlights on, I only getting parking lights. If I pull the high beam switch back and forth a couple of times the low beams work. My Ford dealer said it was a broken headlight connector which replaced. The problem disappeared for about a month but reappeared this week.

I would Check the Multifunction Switch, it controls the wipers left and right turn signals you know the long plastic switch to left of stering column, that was my problem, I figured it out after EXTENSIVE testing, the terminals within where burnt. Hope it helps
