2004 XL with air bag code 1-8

Got a 2004 XL with a airbag code 18 After searching I couldn't find the exact year but one close and the chart indicated either the PAX air bag light out or a short to battery in the Pax circuit-wondering if anyone has tried to chase that done or just left it alone

Did you take the center trim panel out from around the radio as of late ?

'04 LFC 18 should be the same as the 06, PAD ( Passenger Airbag Deactivation ) light. This is the little connector at the top of the center trim panel.

Haven't had the trim panel out-I was hoping it would be the light, but as far as I can tell, I don't have a light. I'm assuming the light is located near the key shutoff on the bottom of the center panel correct? If so, doesn't look like I have it

Before I posted that, I should have asked.

Is this a New Body Style 2004 or a 2004 Heritage or Lightning ?

I gave you the new body style answer, where you might have the heritage / l version which is a simple trip to radio shack.

The light is at the top of the center trim panel, just above the radio, where the center trim panel turns to meet the top tray.

Have not seen one of these blow out.

Have you done any work with the truck ?

No work on the interior-just got it from a friend-it was run pretty hard which is a testiment to they way these are built. 183000 and still going strong. Just went and checked however, and no light right above the radio-its just trim
