Driver's Window Won't Go Down

Well, this morning I headed off to work and the my driver's side window won't roll down. It is a 2004 SCAB, power window. The motor engages when the button is pressed but the window does not move. All other windows go down. What could have broken inside the door and is this going to be a PITA to fix? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Threads usually have the solution to this as carboned contacts in the window switch.

Thread in the technical articles forum on how to repair it.

Would this still allow the window motor to turn? It sounds like it is spinning freely in both directions. If I push auto-down it will continue to spin until I press the up button to stop it. Thanks for the help. It sounds like I'm going to have a busy evening.

Take the door panel off and see what is happening. I'd link you to a how to, but search doesn't appear to be working?

I had virtually the same thing happen except on the passenger rear. It was the window regulator. One of the cable came loose. The part is about $150. The dealer will charge around $400-$500 to fix. It's not that hard to do. It took me about an hour to do (that includes a beer, or two).

Thanks for all of the help guys. It was my window regulator. I found the part at rockauto.com for $110 shipped. Installed in less than a 1/2 hour. Dealer quoted me $350, its no wonder the nickname "Stealership" came out.
