Cool

Oh, yeah, I did install the door entry pad into both my 1998 EB EXPY and my 2000 f150xlt 4x4 pickup

In the 1998 the Rap was turned so the numbers face the firewall. Look for a small box all the way up on the left of the brake pedal. On this 98 I had to fabricate the harness to the door pad.

The harness was present on my 2000 XLT f150 along with the wiring for auto lamps both were installed.
for autolamp assembly order
one YL3Z-13A018-AA amplifier,

One SW-5558 YL3Z-11654-DAB switch,

and a new upper dash cover in the color of choice

Istrucions to install
carefully pry loose upper dash cover, install light cover on new pad,pop pad back in place, and swap out lamp switch assembly. whole process took me about 4 minutes.

Angry

Yeah TW, I hear ya loud and clear! Power up the ying-yang, Lariat to boot, no freakin' remote door locks/alarm! (Installed my own remote start/door locks) Desperately want to install keypad. Maybe one of the Ford electronic techs requested earlier today will pick up on this thread and provide some insite.

all right, heres what i just learned about keyless entry and door pads.my 99 lightning had no plug in in the door so i had to run my own harness through the door to the rap mod.works fine.tonight i put one in a 2001 f150 and it had the plug in the door.easyinstall and works fine.just bought my wife a 99 f150 and decided to put one on it too.slight problem!the truck has power door locks but not the remote keylees entry.no keyless entry,no rap module, and no plug in under the dash for the rap module.i guess a 50$after market remote keyless entry is my only choise because im not about to try to wire up a rap module harness.this also means no key pad.also,to see if your truck may have had remote keyless just turn your ing switch off and on 8 times in 10 seconds.if door locks you have the rap module and just need the clickers and can put the key pad on but have to run your own wire through the door.good luck finding the terminals to plug into the rap mod unless your dealer has the terminal asortment box.

I think somebody here has done it from scratch. I'm hoping they will speak up or maybe someone can direct me to that post.
