Just noticed the cruise on my 97 has stopped working. I've checked the fuse (#5 per the owners manual) and its good. everything else on the truck seems to work. looking for ideas about what else to check.

check the cable on the throttle body.

 

Not sure if they use them,,but the older ones had a diaphram,kind of like a mini brake booster. When these get old,the rubber in them cracks and lets the vacuum escape. Most likely problem,beside a broken switch on the steering wheel. good luck,,,,,98

The cable looks good. Are the steering wheel switches prone to fail on these trucks? Anyone experience a failed switch?
