Power Mirrors
I have a 1997 F-150 4x4.My power mirrors are giving me some frustration.Sometimes they work, but most of the time they dont. When they dont work and I have the switch on I cannot hear the mirror motors.Would this problem be the switch. If so how do I get in there to replace it.Do I have to remove the door panel?Any info would be appreciated.
I recently replaced the mirror switch on my '97 F-150. Mine had a broken **** and still worked OK though, so I can't say whether or not your switch would be bad. If it is bad, however, it is easily replaced, and only costs about $14. The small panel that the switch is mounted on pops out and the switch can then be unplugged and pushed out through the front.
Hope this is of some help,
Bob

No problem, glad it worked out for you. Yes this is a great website. I am currently trying to get more info about a connector in the steering column that supposedly works loose when you tilt the steering wheel causing the turn signals not to work. My turn signals stop working intermittenly and I'm almost sure the connector is the problem, but I'm not sure how to go about getting in to it. If you have any ideas, or have seen something on this site that I may have missed, let me know. Thanks.

Hey Bob.
Go into " Electrical Systems",Then you will see a turn signal column.there is alot of turn signal problems with these vehicles.Apparently there was a ford recall on this according to Ford Tech.Read it ,it is interesting.Hope this helps you.
