Post How do you change the left headlight?

This is going to sound pretty wennie, but I need help. I bought some PIAA super white replacement headlight bulbs and ran into trouble trying to install them. The right one was no problem, but I got stumped by the left one. As far as I can see, I would have to drain the cooling system, remove the coolant overflow tank and the top radiator shroud to replace this thing. Is this really true? Is there an easier way?

------------------
Ordered 1/19/01; TPW 3/12/01; ETA 3/26/01; Delivered 3/21/01; radiator replaced with 1.42" 4/12/01

2001 F150 4X4; 5.4; bright red; super cab; short bed; Lariat; captains chairs; class III tow package; electric shift-on-the-fly; 3.55 LSD; sliding rear window

Mods: Westin Platinum nerf bars; ARE "T" cap; Bedrug; molded splash guards

Mods in my garage, waiting to be installed: PIAA 80XT's and super white bulbs

Future mods: Manik stainless brush guard

Cool

Directly above the headlight are 2 tabs. Slightly push these tabs back and pull up. Keep your leg against the light because it might fall out. with both tabs up hold the front of the light and gently push from the back. to put it back just make sure that the tabs are up and line up the slots. Not to hard.

Talking

There are(if I'm not mistaken) some black
L shaped sliding clips above the headlight. They are right at the back edge of the grille shell,in plain view. Pull up on these two clips, and push the headlight out using the still installed light socket.
Should be easy to get out,but putting them back in is alittle tricky. Make sure the
alignment screws go into there holes and you'll be fine. This is really simpler than this explanation,,,have fun,and enjoy the improved light output,,,,,,98

Firezap and 98SCREAMER

Thanks for the help. I'll try it tomorrow. I had a hunch there was another way.

Thanks for your help guys. I puzzled this thing for nearly an hour and gave up. I posted a question and you guys gave me the answer in 3 minutes. With your help, I switched the left light last night in about 5 minutes. Amazing place, this board.
