Question Digital Odometer in "TEST MODE"

Hi Sorry, but forgot where i found org. post of this test. Did copy info.

Have digital odo. on my 99 SC. Test mode did work. Yeah, thats neat, especially for me.

My truck has no tach. Now when i put it in test mode, i get a digital readout on RPMs.
Lost odo.mileage in test mode, but thats ok.

Question: Could there be a potential problem from running in "test mode" for say 6 or 7 hrs. at a time?? Has anyone done this.

I can see normal wear & tear on the "odometer" but has anyone used it on a long trip with no "side effects"?

When the DTC (diagnotic trouble code) appeared, didnt have any, but got curious

I read with the "superchip" installed, OBD II(data link hookup) would show a "error code" because of this chip being installed, but the "odo. DTC test mode" didnt show error code.

Im just curious, maybe these are independent type test. It is interesting.

TKS. for any replies on this. OT

I recently ran a 11hr trip with my odo showing the temperature, no adverse affects, nearly one month later. I don't see how running it for long periods of time could affect it. But i guess only time will tell.
