Post Finding keypad code

I realize this subject has been discussed here before but a friend has asked for help.
He is looking for the keypad code for a 98'
Explorer. He has checked the following: around the jamb and door of the lift gate, the RAP module and the owners manual jacket. No luck! He states that it has been repainted.

Is anyone aware of a system or trick to help us out? Tx, Dennis

If you have the owners manual, it explains how to program your own code. The one from the factory is permanent but does he need it?
If the manual doesn't explain it, leave a message back here and I will check the directions for my 97 Lincoln Mark VIII. It might be the same.

In the jacket that holds the owners manual there should be a card that has the code for the keypad. From the factory they come with a set code, but you can change it to what you want, it should tell you how to change it in your owners manual.

OR you can go to the dealer, have him use the NGS on it and pull it out of the RAP. Takes about 5 minutes, ahould cost you no more than ten bucks.

My was on the back side of the RAP module. The only way to see it was take it out and look on the back.

Open the rear jack storage compartment and look up inside there. You might need a mirror to get the angle you need to see it, but that's where it's at. Don't bother taking it to the dealer... they're going to charge you 10 bucks to "look" at it, literally.
