cluster gauges

Hello, have my battery light on, check the battery is fine, cleaned the terminals and leads, and then restarted, then the cluster gauges swept from one end to another like I was going 100mph lol and the tach did it to and all the other guages, what is it the alternator is shot Im guessing?

Also if i pull the pos cable off the battery when the engine is running will it die?

The gauge sweep is an indication of a battery on the way out.

Not sure how you checked it, but you might want to have it load tested.

And yes, if you pull the pos cable off while the truck is running, chances are it will kill the truck.

#1 That is a low battery, not a good battery. A marginal battery is 12.3 V, and you really should should have at least 12.6 V

#2 a meter is not a load test.
