Post 12v in the rear???

I don't supposed Ford put a 12v source around the rear of the truck that I can hook a light up to for my new ARE cap?? I think I'm going to have to runa wire all the way up to the battery and make a fuse block there for a couple other things...

If you have the tow package, there's a 12v source at the plug. All you'd have to do is tap into that wire.

As to your next question... No, I don't know which wire it is, nor do I know if you can find the source if you don't have the tow package with the trailer wiring harness.

You might want to hookup to a tail lite wire. Then you can't forget and leave the cap lite on.

Yes I do have the towing package, and I guess I can figure out what wire it is... but I am looking for a constant 12v, not just when the lights are on. I'd like to tap into the interior dome light or cargo light and maybe put a switch on the hatch. Also, does andyone have any suggestions on how to alarm the bed?
