Strange Electrical Problems Driving Me Nuts!

having problems with my gem board also, dealer states that water may be leaking from winshield onto gem board, check for moist.. and check for leaks with garden hose and some help.

I did disasemble the GEM to see if I could find any signs of moisture... I found 3 or 4 solder contacts that look like they have coroded, and what apear to be water spots left in the dust right around the contacts...

Looks like the water may have shorted out the contacts and maybe blew out one of the chips on the GEM... I can't fugure out where the water came from though.

I am not sure about the battery saver relay etc., but I do know that the problem has not come back since I recieved my truck back from the dealer. I guess today and the next few days will be the best test. (it is raining right now and the weather guy says "more to come!")...

I'll let you all know if the problem persists... Oh, Jefflaws, you said the bill looks a bit high? Just out of curiosity, what would have been the correct cost for parts and labor on this kind of trouble? Thanks!

the parts are probably right, but the labor for putting the GEM module in is only .6 hour under warranty, so for customer pay, we charge an hour, which is 54.00 where i work. Ive put a bunch in , and it really only takes about 15min. What is their labor rate there?
