Post Recall for Daytime Running Lights

Hi all,
Just received a recall notice from Ford of Canada regarding the daytime running lights on certain 99,00,01 F-150's, 250's, Expys and Navigators. There is a resistor that can corrode resulting in a loss of Daytime Running Lights. In Canada, the safety recall number is 00S29. Not sure if US vehicles are affected or not. If there is a better place to post this, please do so.

Thanks.

What do ya mean jefflaws? After the change the running lights don't work? Is it worth getting the work done at all? Do you work for a Ford dealer?

Thanks

to perform the recall the old drl resistor is replaced with a new one that has a sealant protecting the ceramic portion of the resistor assembly to prevent water and other contaminats from entering, your drl's will still work the same, no difference in parts except for the protective coating

where i live and work, NC, the recalls we have been doing are for vehicles that were incorrectly built with DRLs and werent supposed to have them. I dont know about the other part of the recall where you replace the resistor, but i guess those are done on the trucks that were actually supposed to have them. We've been unplugging the modules and installing a jumper plug that allows the regular lights to work.
