Post Radar Detector Mounting and Power

I am going to install a radar detector into my Screw. I caught a few messages where some has wired into the console wiring. I took a look at getting the overhead console off by removing the screw in the front of the overhead console but it seems like it is attached at the rear as well, so I didn't want to force it and break anything. Anyone know how to get the overhead console off?

If it's the same as the 2000 console (compass/thermo, sunglasses & garage door compartments), there is just one screw at the front and the rear is held on with two metal clips. Unscrew the front screw and pull the cover straight down and it will come off.
I mounted a 1/8" mono jack in the front of the console and made a short power cable for the detector. That way if I it out it doesn't leave a wire hanging down.

The wires to use are:
WH/LB - Hot in run
BK/LB - Ground
