Thumbs down Pinched Wiring Harness - AC control

Has anybody had problems with a wiring harness being pinched by the AC/Heater actuator?

When I turn the temperature setting to full hot or full cold, I get electrical (engine) noises through my radio. I have done some "testing" on the radio and found that the worst noise is at 540 to 590 on the AM dial. The simple solution is to back the temperature off from full hot or cold. But, I know that there is some damage to the wires because sometimes I get static and need to pound on the dash to clear it up.

Also, it seems like an odd "Phantom Wiper" problem has appeared. Sometimes the washer starts squirting automatically. I think it related to the harness. It seems like the problem occurs after I set the temperature or after I hit a good bump in the road. And, it does not happen every time.

It took a while to realize was the temperature control because the switch is connected to a motor that does not respond instantly. Basically, after you change the temperature setting, you need to wait a few seconds to let the motor catch up.

I have a '97 F150 super cab, V6, 5 speed manual.

Thanks,
SGS.

sounds strange. The only thing I have to offer is hope that you don't have wire or harness damage.A buddy of mine had someone attempt to steal his 94 maxda 4x4(read ranger 4x4) and they cut two his wiring harnesses.1200 bucks worth of repairs just to the wiring.
