Purchased a 98 Larait a few weeks ago. I am going to add a keyless entry. Can anybody tell me if that was an option in that year. If so what the code was. Hate banging on Ford for information. If there is not a Ford option available, I could use any information on aftermarket. Good ones, bad ones etc. Truck has everything else, don't know why it wasn't ordered if available. Have them on my 90 T-Bird SC and Lincoln Mark VIII LSC. Great item. Thanks in advance for any available infromation.

1998 Lariat

 

Check and see if you have an dash light that says "Theft" when you lock and close the doors. If so, you have the factory ani-theft system that also has keyless entry. Since the vehicle is used and is a larriat, it more than likely had it, but someone didn't turn in the remotes with the keys or they were lost at the dealership or whatever. If it does have it, the dealer can program new ones for your truck.

 

My guess would be that since it is a Lariat you've got everything you need, except the remotes of course. I'd contact your dealer about trying to order replacements. They may have to do the programming since both remotes are missing, but I could be wrong.

Anyone know if the Lariat package came with remote keyless as a standard feature.
I have a '97 Lariat (purchased user 1 monthago) and it seems odd to me too there is no keyless.
Traded in my 99 Ranger 4x4 P.O.S. and it had keyless!

I still have the window sticker off mine. The keyless was a $255 option in '97. I still put in a remote start/keyless entry 3 yrs. ago.
