recently towed friends trailer after he had electrical problem causing brakelamps and turn signals on trailer to not work only to learn later a shoort in trailer blew fuse in engine comp fuse box,he has 99 150.fuse was easily found in owners manual.it caused same problem in my 97 only i cannot locate any blown fuses in either engine or dash fuse panel.anyone know which fuse handles the stop/turn lamps on 97 towing pkg? any help is appreciated ,thanks in advance

 

Sorry I don't have info on the 97, but the 2000 fuses are 19 and 20 in the under hood fuse box. They are 10 amp. Hope this helps.

My '97 book shows fuse 2, a 20A, in the "Engine Fuse Module", not the main box. Not sure what engine fuse module means. The trailering relay box???

Fuse 16-40 amp-Trailer tow battery charge and stop/turn lamps

have checked all fuse in power distrib box and dash fuse box,all appear ok.anyone else with some other suggestions,ive rechecked my manual as well as those others have referred to so far

 

According to the '97 EVTM, fuse 16, 40Amps in the PDB, feeds:
(a)Trailer Battery through the Trailer Tow Battery Charge Relay.
(b)Feeds the 20Amp fuse in the Engine Fuse Module, that then feeds through the left turn or right turn trailer tow relays contacts to the 7 pin trailer connector.
Do you have 12 volts at the trailer battery feed pin on the 7 pin connector?
Do the trailer tow left and right turn relays click when turn signal is on?
Did you figure out what Engine Fuse Module means or where that 20Amp fuse in it is?

there ia a little fuse box on the upper right hand side of the Power distribution box next to the fender it's about 1" x4" long there is 2 fuses the one you want is a 20amp yellow fuse I had the same problem
this fuse box IS NOT in the owners manual
I had to call the service dept to find out whats wrong with my truck thats when they told me bout the fuse box

 

thanx big time rlbell.made appt to take truck in as I could not find problem.Dealer said it be min of 1hr labor at $62hr. Found box it was blown fuse as you describited,my manual also makes no mention of that fuse box,and its placed where you really dont pay attn to it. thanks again

Yes, there it is right there on page 134 of the 1997 owners manual. Minifuse panel located behind the power distribution box on the left fender, location number 2, 20 amp fuse, for trailer tow stop/turn lamps.

Sorry we didn't find it before you spent the $62 for a 5 minute job. Bummer.

thanks for info,my manual pg 134 deals with cooling systems,apparently we have different manuals,mine has 187 pgs,cat# fcs-12173-970g sept 97 print for 97 150.I did find it just b4 spending the bucks so it only cost the price of the fuse
