ding, ding, ding! how do I turn off that dinging noise

Post ding, ding, ding! how do I turn off that dinging noise

I love my F-150 but I like to sit sometimes with the driver door open and listen to the radio but I cant cause of that frieken DING noise cause the door is open and I got the key in the ignition. Is there anyway I can turn that off. I looked around on the door for some mechanism but I am puzzled. any help..please!!!

There is a plug for the door plunger, but not sure where it is located but maybe someone else knows. Anyway, if you unplug it the ding will stop, but I wouldn't recommend it because in addition to dinging when the keys are in the ignition (helps prevent locking keys in truck) it will also alert you if you are leaving the truck and the lights have been left on.

Manually trip the door latch. Use a stick or screwdriver if you don't want to get your fingers greasy. Don't forget to give the door handle a pull to untrip the latch before you close the door.

BTW, what's a "Quad" that you have listed in your signature?
