This might seem simple but,,, Have you checked all the fuses? Even if they're not "Broken" sometimes they can fail once current is put across them.

Check the fuses and relays make sure they are all in tight and none of them gone bad if that all checks out then it must be something in the wiring.

I just got my 2000 F-150 super cab out of the shop with the exact same problem. Mine turned out to be a short in a wire behind the clutch assembly going to the GEM module which controls those components. I was told that this short would cause an electrical surge to the GEM module and that was wiping out the programming for those components. They fixed the wiring problem, reprogrammed the GEM module and everything seems to be working fine now.

Thumbs down

Same thing just happened to my 2000 SuperDuty.. Dome lights started flashing like a blinker, power windows quit, and no wipers. Dealer said it might be the GEM. (Also said "well, looks like you have an electrical problem.." Really?)

I'm beginning to feel guilty about actually remembering a time when wire ran to a fuse then to a switch then to *the device* then to ground.

Life was wonderful then (and the older I get, the faster my car was)!

Can any of you Advance Engineers give me some heads-up as to how many transistors/chokes/capacitors/etc it will take to replace that light switch in my bathroom, next time it wears out?
