switch panel wiring - what gauge of wire?

while I only have a set of fogs on the front of the truck, I'd like to make up a small switch panel that will fit under my stereo and pre-wire some switches for future use. I always have and continue to use relays to provide power to accessories, what size of wire can I get away with for the switches alone? Thanks.

If you are only using the switches to activate a relay, 16 AWG is large enough for that load.

16 AWG 90*C wire is good up to ~ 8 A of load, not accounting for inrush.

The relay coil is less than 1 A load.
