keyless entry door pad not working
keyless entry door pad not working
i had a ford add on keyless entry keypad installed on my truck less than a year ago. all of a sudden now it is not working. it still lights up when i touch any of the buttons, but it will not lock the door when i hold the 7/8 9/0 buttons nor will it unlock the doors with the orginal factory code or my code. i can't figure out what is going on with it. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

So when programming the RKE fobs, how do you add the keyless entry pad back in to be one of the six? I know the procedure, key 0 position to 3 position 8 times, the locks cycle, you hit each key fob, then pull key out of ignition. How do you add in the keypad?
EDIT: I found it. Putting here for the next poor sap that has this problem.
To program, make sure you have both key fobs that came with you vehicle. Insert the key into the ignition and switch from off to run (not starting the engine) eight times in ten seconds. This will cycle the lock to let you know you did it right. Now, press any key on the first FOB. The locks will cycle, then press any key on second FOB, again, locks will cycle. Now enter the permanent access code from the card that came with the keypad, and the locks will again cycle. Turn the ignition off and the lock will cycle for the final time, letting you know programming was successful. If you want to program your own personal 5 digit code, you simply enter the permanent access code from the card, press the 1*2 key followed by the five digit code of your choice. You can have one personal code at a time. The permanent access code can always be used, whether you have a personal number programmed or not.
