My Efan setup
My Efan setup
Hello! After searching and researching I still have a question
Summit Dual 12" Efans
Hayden Automotive 3647 Electric Fan Controls
These are the products I plan on purchasing and installing...
My question is... Are there any other wiring setups/relays that need to be purchased to make it work? Or do I buy these two things and go?
I really appreciate it..I'm eager to buy these and go, but I want to make sure I have all the parts necessary to make it work
Thanks again!

Fans may NOT be big enough. I do not trust any fan with that little supporting info ( refer to SPAL docs for reference.) Hence - I personally do not beleive the 2600 cfm rating from those fans without a corresponding static pressure specification. Sorry.
Controller is low-end and completely unexceptional. Not a speed-variable unit. NO current rating!?!
Before purchase, check out http://www.spalusa.com/store/main.aspx for excellent fans and controllers that will actually last and cool yer truck properly under ALL conditions. 16" high-perf units are what you need.
Also - read up on the PWM-V3 controller. Now that is a REAL fan controller.
You will need robust wiring, good quality fuse holders, fusible links or circuit breakers, soldering iron, connectors, wire loom, relays, manual overide switches ( and more relays), indicators Leds, proper back-EMF suppression (my favourite), dielectric grease, and exceptional attention to detail and instalation/electrical best-practices. Oh - and an IR point&shoot thermometer to set turn-on temps.
You get what you pay for. Despite all the BS on this site (and there is a TON of mis-info) - you REALLY do. Not what you wanted to hear, I'll wager, but that is what you get for not researching quite enough. NOT an area to scrimp on component quality versus pricing. Lord knows it's been discussed to death already on here.
CAVEAT - MY Opinions ONLY, okay? DO NOT GET BENT. I Repeat - Do. Not. Get. Bent.
Regardless - very best of luck to ya - I do mean that. Believe it or not (I suspect not)...

Controller is middle-of-the-road and unexceptional.

The spal website looks to have some quality parts, preciate it!

16" Puller
195* Fan Harness
All I need is those two things and I'm good right??
Thanks again man
I'm thinking now that it may be better to purchase the Flex-a-lite 270 setup...A little pricey but it would probably be better for someone in my position. All the parts are included..not to mention directions. Thoughts?
I know Troyer is a sponsor on this forum, but haven't quite a few people had problems with the Troyer set-up? Sure seems that way.
I've heard enough about Troyer Perf. to know that I'm not interested in any of their products or services.
