Creative Switch Placement and Switch Panels 2009 XLT
I've searched the Web hi, low and side to side and have pretty much come up empty.
I have a 2009 XLT (seats three upfront - column shift) and am looking to install switches and switch panels -- without it looking hacked. I'd like to make use of the two dash "pocket-style" storage areas already in the dash and was also thinking of utilizing the ashtray. I imagine I'll be needing around 5-6 total switches.
Was wondering if anyone has done this, etc. I don't have the resources to fabricate too much...
Thank you.

Depending on what you are trying to control and what all at the same time, I sometimes use DPDT (double pole, double throw) to do the same job with one switch that 2 would normally do. If the '09 has the same or similar panel that the cig lighter is mounted on, though it's not a very large panel, it will accommodate several switches and if you use relays to do the actual job, you can use DPDT rocker switches (small) and actually control quite a bit from that rather small space. I like the use of relays because they are quit dependable and you don't have to worry about carrying all that load through those switches. I also like to ground switch my relays rather than power switch and I fuse the constant power to the relays with low voltage fuses for safety. I am used to doing quite a bit of custom electrical and at least this works comfortably for me.
