I just bought a used 08 crewcab. I had it detailed and when I got it back, the interior light dimmer switch was down all the way. When I moved it back up the radio got quieter. If I returned the dimmer switch to the lowest position, the radio gets louder. Also, the volume changes when I turn the headlights on. Any ideas? Is it the radio or the light switch?

 

Is it a factory radio ?

If so, has it even been switched from factory to after market, and back ?

The reason I ask, it sounds like the speed volume got hooked to the interior dimmer switch.

 

it is a lease return, so I doubt that the radio has been changed, but I don't know that for sure. It is the factory radio as far as I can tell. I'll have to check and see if the speedo volume works, if not that might be a place to start.

 

Best bet is to pull the radio, and see if the harness has been spliced.

Some do not get the adapter harness for the radio ( or one is not available ) and they hack it together.
