Exclamation Wipers work intermittently

My wipers only work when its dry. When it rains, they decide to stop working. Kinda defeats the purpose. Where is a good place to start tracking down a short in the system?

Sounds like the connector at the wiper motor is a good place.

The connector might be corroded or gunked up, and when it rains it is enough to cause an open ( that is the SWAG I am taking ).

If you want another route ( might be a bit more difficult ) you can apply power to the wires leaving the GEM, and see if it stops when you spray water on the cowl.

Found it!

Took off the blade arms, and the plastic cowl cover.

Took the electrical plug off the motor assembly, then took off the plastic piece that covers the inner-workings of the system (where the motor connects to).

This piece routes the electrical connections to the top side of the assembly. 3 prongs connect everything on this last piece, and one of the contacts for the prongs was bent back (don't know how that could happen since it just started recently).

Wasn't making a good connection, bent the connector back to its happy place, put it all back together, it works. woohoo.
