Outside Keyhole Light

Does the 97 F150 have lighted keyholes. If they do mine do not work and I have a hard time unlocking the door at night. Also if the don't has anyone done this to their truck and how did you do it. I have in a few days I will be off and I'll pull the door apart and take a look at what can be done. I know the easy way would be to put remote entry but I have to wait until I can afford the one I want that has remote start also.

The F150 does not have illuminated keyholes on the 97 +MYs.

Your truck might have been equipped with key less entry from the factory, there is a way to tell... would be worth checking out and a lot cheaper than having a whole setup installed.

If what is described on number 2.. then go get yourself a remote, they're about $20.

The last expy my dad owned had been through quite a few owners and I would imagine along the way the remotes were lost. When they purchased it, there were no remotes. He called and said they were heading to car toys to have a remote entry installed for $600 but I told him to wait, that I had a spare remote and wanted to try the procedure. Low and behold on the 8th turn on the key... BOOOM door locks went up and down and I programed the remote for them.
