2004 Independant fog lights

hey guys..

I have a 2004 F150 and was wondering if anyone here ever managed to work the fogs independantly?

I did that on my stang and was wanting to do the same with the truck. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Run them independent of the parking lamps ?

If this is what you are looking for, the 04 and early production 05 model years show the power for the fog lamp switch external to the switch. Late production 05 and 06-08 the power for the fog lamp switch is internal to the switch.

The parking lamp circuit is a Brown wire, and the one you are looking for is pin 2 to move to another power source ( hot in run position ) to change the operation of the fog lamps ( run without parking lamps on ).

The headlamp connector is a back 12 pin connector, Pin #2 is on the side towards the connector locking tab, 2nd pin from the end.
If the headlamp connector is a 10 pin connector, you do not have the type of switch that has the fog lamp power external to the switch.
Just saw that there were 2 different connectors for the headlamp switch, never noticed before that mid 05 MY Ford did that major of a change.

Mine is controled by the dial, but the parking needs to be turned on first then that is the only way the control can be pulled out to activate the fogs.

Looks pretty complicated...lol!!!

Thanks man

That would be the 2nd part, modifying the ramp in the headlamp switch so it could be pulled out without the parking lamps on, but you would need to confirm the switch type you have. It is not that complicated.

The other way around this is to remove the white w/ black stripe wire from the main headlamp switch, and install it on a separate switch.

How did you modify it on the Mustang ?
