2001 Screw Dome light switch

Hey Everyone, I need some help for a good friend. He has a 2001 Screw and has a wierd problem with the dome lights. I used the beloved search function but this kind of scenario could not be found.

The dome lights in his truck work fine with the door jamb switches but when he uses the individual switches on the lights themselves they wont light up?

Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Change the bulbs ?

Those are 2 element bulbs, one is the door switch, the other element is the Map light.

01-03 screw actually has three bulbs in the dome light. one dome and two map lghts that flank it. I'd pop it down and move the known good bulb to a dead socket before you buy anything

Thanks a bunch guys. He sent me phone pics of his dome lights and he has two in the front seats and two in the back seats, 4 altogether. Each one also doubles as a dome light and all 4 work with the door jamb switch and the dimmer switch on the dash.
None work individually when their respective rocker switch for maplight function is used. I advised him to buy a single bulb for the front to test with. He is skeptical that all four bulbs would go out at the same time but it could happen.
Most times they go bad one by one but you dont notice until they all stop working and then assume they all went out at once. I'll let you al know how it turns out. Thanks again.
