Loss Of Interior Power
Loss Of Interior Power
Ok a little background I have an '02 F150 SCrew.
I did have a leak in my front windshield that was right over my steering column and when ever it would rain water would leak down onto my steering column obviously. And my interior over head light, windshields widers, radio, and power windows would sometimes stop working IF it was in run when I turned the key backwards all of them worked as normal. So I figured it had to be in the ignition switch. I took it out and as I expected it was wet. I ran a continuity test on the switch at each point following the flow of power. It all worked so I brought into the house to let it dry over night. Went out the next day reinstalled it and had no problems. Drove to the store abd bought some sealent for my window and sealed it so I no longer have a leak.
I thought all was fine until today it was raining all day no leak on my windshield BUT my electronics are acting funny again. The thing is it is only when I put it in run backwards still works fine. Any idea what could be causing it. Or of any common spots for water to get into your electrical. Any and all help is very appreciated.
Also when this problem occurs my truck won't turn over but if that happens I can unhook the battery then immediatly hook it back up and it will start up no problem. I have test the starter, alternator, and battery within the last 72hours and no problems with them.
