Truck Off Headlamps On

I've been searching forums all morning. This problems started several days ago.

Turn off truck. Headlamps; Taillamps; Gauge Cluster Stay On.

I've tried removing fuses / relays in the box under the hood. I've tried removing fuses under the dash and still nothing.

When I remove #3 & #6 under the hood I am able to disconnect power to the lights that are staying on. Nothing under the dash does this.

I started out by disconnecting the battery when leaving my truck so the lights won't drain the battery however now I'm just removing the fuses.

Battery was replaced with a 60 Month Battery @ 107,066 in February 2008.

I've not found someone with the same problem I'm having here on the forums.

Do you have the autolamp feature ?

What position is the headlamp switch in when you turn off the truck, that the headlamps stay on ?

My vehicle does have autolamp feature.

When I turn the truck off the headlamp switch is in the off position.

If my truck is off, key out, and the headlight switch is in the off position the headlights stay on. If I switch the headlight switch over to "auto" the lamps will briefly switch off then come back on immediately.

Also, this is an intermittent problem in that in the last three days this has been happening often, but several times while I'm driving with the headlamp switch off (and the lights on) the lights will all of a sudden turn off. Then when I switch the headlamp switch to "on" or "parking" the lamps come on and I can turn them off and on as I wish. Then, as if out of nowhere the problem starts happening again.

I would guess that this is a headlamp switch problem, if there are no other modifications to the truck.

Do you have a meter to test the headlamp switch with ?

I have a meter....

No mods to the truck, it's stock 5.4L V8 Lariat.

Today driving the truck all day I've had NO problems with the headlamps. Although I haven't switched over to Autolamp feature. And, thinking about that, tomorrow I may do a test to see if switching over the the autolamp feature is something that causes the problem to start again.
