ok I disabled the "key in" switch, the black wire w/ purple stripe but I still get the door alarm, key in or out. I thought if the "key in" switch wasnt grounded it wouldnt have the door alarm BTW 99 F250 and yes I know this is F150online. TIA

You can test it by tripping the door latch with a screw driver ( remember to open it again prior to closing the door ), but if this is what you are talking about with the key in the run position, the only way around it is to disable the door latch ( which means no interior lamps ).

The key in alarm is just that, the key in alarm, nothing else.

Are you sure you got the key alarm removed correctly ?

The door ajar alarm should only happen with the key in the run position.
No key, door open the only indicator should be the door ajar light on the cluster, and the interior lamps.

 

with no key and door open I get the alarm, I completely removed the "key in" switch that contacts the ignition drum, I also tried a new key ignition drum and it did the same thing

 

Is there a broken tab in the ign switch mount ?

Dad's 2001 has the tab broken off, laying in the mounting hole, and would do the same thing ( beep like the keys were in the ignition when the door was open, no matter if the key was in or not ).

When I pulled the ignition switch, it caught and fell out.
