Electrical Door Lock

When I hit the door lock button passenger door locks but drivers door doesn't go down, but it does move. When I hit the unlock both doors unlock. Is that a switch or is it the door actuator?

If one side works, and the other does not, that would be the actuator.

Same circuit for both locks.

I have never done one myself, so I cannot say.

I did install a keypad door handle on my 2001 SCrew, which was not difficult, only time consuming. Don't know how much of that project overlaps to the door lock actuator.

Here is a keypad install for your truck type

I don't know how much ( if at all ) this will help you with the door lock actuator.

Take a search in this forum, and the 1997-2003 forum for some threads on the topic.

Thanks sscully, I don't even have a remote door opener with my truck. I guess when I bought my truck in 99 it was an option and it wasn't installed on mine. Will dismantle truck door when weather gets better and take some pics to help others.

That would be great. I cannot recall seeing a thread with pictures on this.

Helping the next guy is what this site is about.

Maybe some of the text in the other threads will help with taking them out.

If you need it, a good how to on removing the door panel, you can get a set of the Muth signal mirror install directions :
