Question Alarm system won't shut off

I've searched the forums and haven't found a solutions to my situation, so I'm going to throw this out there...

My fuel pump died on my 2000 F150 XLT, so I disconnected the battery, removed the bed, and swapped pumps. Reconnected the battery, and the alarm (OEM) goes off continuously now. I have only 1 key, and no fab. I tried to lock and unlock the driver side door, but that didn't turn off or reset the alarm.

I haven't been able to find any toggle or valet switch under the dash. While the alarm is active the PATS system doesn't allow me to start the vehicle.

Is there a way to disable or even remove the alarm so I can drive my truck?

or do I need to bend over for the dealership to re-program something

Thanks in advance

Is this the Ford Gold remote start w/ Alarm ?

If so, there is a procedure for truck battery replacement in the gold owners manual, which you will need to find the programming switch to do the procedure.

Nope, the truck doesn't have a remote start. There's no auto lock, or alarm via key fab at all. There's not even a key fab receiver....

If its not a factory unit, then unplug it. Find the starter kill relay, and cut it out, then re connect the starter wire with a butt connector.

Will the same approach work if it IS a factory alarm? The alarm was in the truck when I purchased it ( I'm the 3rd owner) and from what I can tell it definitely looks like a factory install.

What factory alarm are you talking about then ?

The only Ford branded alarm that I know of is the Ford Gold remote start + alarm, and that has an external unit under the dash.

The only alarm that a truck off the factory line has is the panic alarm via the factory RKE ( Remote Keyless Entry ), but you need the key fob to set it off.

What are you looking at, calling the alarm and not a key fob receiver ?

Ok, so here's a picture of the module under the dash.

It appears to be an IR alarm as well as a standard car alarm. Is this a factory install?

I can't seem to find any information about it on the net, anyone know how I can reset it?

this is a copied version of the owners guide...probably for your model
http://www.autoelectric.ru/autoalarm...m/ca/ca-ug.htm

this should be the install guide for it
http://www.autoelectric.ru/autoalarm...rm/ca/ca-m.htm

it looks to me like the manual comes with a code specific for each unit, you may have to disable and uninstall the whole system based on the info in those manuals..and then go buy a viper lol

as FX4Audio that is aftermarket.

A Ford ( in your MY was an OEM'd CodeAlarm ) Gold system had a Ford sticker on the unit, none of the Ford Gold alarms had the Code Alarm name on them on the outside.

Good luck with the manuals FX4Audio posted.

Hook up battery. Alarm will start to go off. Get in truck. Close door. Truck in park. Press and hold brake in. Turn key back and forth rapidly from key out position to on position 10 times or on different models til u see dash lights change.then without hesitation turn key back and forth from key out position to start position until truck starts.

Your welcome.
Just another ford lover
