Keyless Entry / Headlights
Keyless Entry / Headlights
All,
I apologize in advance if this has already been asked. I searched before posting and was unsuccessful at finding the answer.
I have a 2007 SCREW FX4 5.4L with factory keyless entry. In approximately one month I will be installing a retrofit projector HID headlight setup. What I have noticed when I unlock my truck via the remote, is that my headlights come on. Because I will be using HID's, I would prefer that when I unlock my truck via the remote, that my headlights DO NOT come on. I only want them to come on when I turn them on using the headlight **** on the inside of the truck. Does anyone know what steps I need to take to prevent my headlights from coming on when I unlock my truck via remote? The only way I've been able to get around my headlights coming on so far is to just unlock the driver's door with the ignition key. This works ok when I'm by myself, but it's rude when I'm on a date because I want to open the passenger door for her without destroying my HID's. Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks SSCULLY for the quick response. I found a website where I was able to download my owner's manual. Thanks again!

You're welcome. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Hope you like the HIDs. Make sure you aim your headlights after you install them (directions are in the owner's manual). Because the HIDs are so bright, I aimed mine about 6" lower than the directions. Really cuts down on oncoming drivers flashing you.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well! Thanks for the advice. The HID's in my album are no longer on the truck because I felt like the glare was blinding people...even though I never got flashed a single time. They blinded me, so I couldn't figure out how it wasn't blinding to anyone else. lol
What I'm doing now is a projector retrofit so that I'll have a sharp cutoff, thus no longer blinding anyone. I plan to install them in about 1 month's time from now and am extremely excited about it. I'll share some pics of the results...if it goes well I think more people may be willing to give it a shot. Take care!
