Good Aftermarket Battery

Before someone says something about using "the search function" and freaking out...I did and didn't find what I was looking for.

I have always heard to buy optimas. We use the marine grade one at my job for a back up battery for the cranking motor & trolling motor. I saw some guys like the yellow tops.

But are there any other brands out there that are good too??

Exide Marathon battery from local Kragen's...Good CCA's. Long RC time, 40/108 warranty, and half the price of a Sears Platinum battery!

NOT a Optima. Everyone has their favorites. I think the "newest" battery to reach to the tops of peoples' list is the platinum from Sears, it is a relabeled battery of another brand that I cannot think of on here but a few have mentioned it before. Sometimes you get what you pay for, sometimes not. Personally I got the biggest CCA in the group that fits from my mechanic in his normal brand (AC Delco, lol).

Whats wrong with optima? I've had my yellow top for about a year and a half and its never let me down. before that i had an everstart maxx (wal mart brand), it was the yellow one with the most cca and had a 2 yr warranty. that battery is about 3 yrs old now and still working in my friends truck.

the only other one i can think of is odyssey. or if your looking to power a system, check out stinger or kinetik.

My next Battery might be one from an 18 wheel Tractor. Lots of RC for the winch and running accessories.
