door locks & speed/tach acting funny on start-up
'03 F150 Screw, 125K mi. For the last couple of months about 50% of the time, I have noticed that immediately on turning the ignition on, all the door locks lock. It only happens at the first start in the morning and not on subsequent starts the same day. A month ago, I disengaged the auto door lock function but that didn't change the problem.
This morning when I was starting the truck, I was watching the speed/tachometer and immediately on turning the ignition on, the door locks locked and both the speed & tach went from 0 to all the way pointing right and then back to 0 and then the tach popped up to 1K or so. It probably took 4 seconds and both needles were synchronized. It was a twighlite zone experience.
Any ideas? I appreciate it.

The gauge sweep is the indicator on the 97-03 MY trucks that the battery is on the way out.
That is what will happen when you replace the battery as well.
If you check it with a meter after it sat over night you might find it is < 12 V.
You can go the route of having it tested, but it will come back as needing replacement.
