Talking K3LA installed!!!

I bought that train horn set up this weekend that I was talking about a while back. It has horns 1, 2, and 4A. So that makes it a K3LA I do believe. I have a 7 gallon tank, 1/2 line, 1/2 solenoid, and a DC5000 pump. WOW that thing is loud at 150psi

I still have a minor bug to work out, then I'll be in good shape

Q. what is the best pressure for this horn?

150psi is plenty fine, some run up to 200, but i think its overkill.
anywhere between 110-160 is where i'd normally run it.

Okay cool. I blew up my air ride tech pressure switch PRE1500. It is 130 on and 150 off. I didn't know if I should get a different pressure or not.

I talked to a guy today that rebuilds these horns, and he is going to sell me a 125psi switch cheap. Is that too low? Will it be quieter, lower pitched?

just keep the switch you have, been giving my k3l's 145 psi max for the past few months, but there are others that run higher and have been for quite a long time. check out
trainhornforums.com or something like that, should be hornblasters forums

Well he was wrong, that switch I got from him is a Viair 110 on 145 off. I think I'll keep it! lol

Now I am pretty sure that my solenoid is leaking. I have checked all of my fittings, so the only other thing I can think of would be the inside of that solenoid. I can hear the tank moving air, I just can't find it! It is a brand new Parker solenoid too.

Mounted in the spare tire location. They are not pretty, but damn they sound good! I am considering doing a video in the near future.

Nice looking big horns, looks like the effects of winter driving has taken its toll on your horns though
